We have been a national leader in advanced organ disease treatment and transplant surgery for over 51 years, and TGH is one of only a few dozen hospitals in the U.S. to have performed more than 15,000 transplant surgeries
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary hepatology physician for adult liver transplant patients, including evaluation, pre- and post-transplant care, and long-term management
- Provide clinical expertise and support for the Liver Transplant and Advanced Liver Disease Programs
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Lead or contribute to program growth initiatives, including outreach, referral expansion, and enhanced access to liver transplant services
- Ensure compliance with OPTN/UNOS policies, CMS Conditions of Participation, and SRTR benchmarks for hepatology and transplantation
- Participate in quality improvement, program monitoring, and transplant committee leadership
- Mentor faculty, fellows, advanced practice providers (APPs), and multidisciplinary team members
- Engage in education and academic activities through USF Health Morsani College of Medicine
Requirements
Qualifications
- MD or DO; board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, with fellowship training in Transplant Hepatology
- Experience caring for patients with advanced liver disease, pre- and post-liver transplantation
- Eligible to serve as a primary hepatologist for OPTN/UNOS-designated liver transplant programs
- Minimum of 3–5 years post-fellowship experience in transplant hepatology preferred
- Demonstrated experience working in high-volume transplant or advanced liver disease programs
