Description
The University of Miami Health System is initiating a search for a Director of Neurogastroenterology and Motility.
The Motility Lab Director for Digestive Health Services is responsible for the oversight, safety of all patients having motility procedures, and interpretation and reading of studies done by a nurse and tech at UHealth Towers, Lennar Medical Foundation, and Sole Mia. The Motility Lab Director shall be a member of the active Medical Staff, and shall be administratively responsible for working collaboratively with hospital leadership in addressing issues of common concern related to patient care taking place within the Motility Lab.
Essential Duties:
Collaborate with hospital leadership to:
- Assess and improve the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction within the motility labs at UHealth Towers and Lennar
- Ensure proper training, education, and oversight for physicians, fellows, nurses, and other staff members in the motility lab
identify and help resolve conflict between the medical staff of the motility lab and hospital staff - Assure coverage of faculty in the division for oversight and reading of motility procedures
- Participate in quality review of motility procedures, performance improvement, utilization review and risk management and patient safety activities as they relate to motility procedures.
- Interpret and help to ensure medical staff compliance with hospital and medical staff bylaws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations and applicable regulatory standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- M.D./D.O. Required
- Internal Medicine Residency
- Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship
- Board Eligible/Certified Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
- Florida Medical License or eligible
- Valid DEA licensure
