DescriptionOutstanding Opportunity for Medical Director, Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Cardiology
to Join Prestigious Children's Health System in South Florida
Nicklaus Children's Health System and Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the health system's physician-led multispecialty group practice, have an opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) pediatric cardiologist with advanced heart failure and transplant experience to serve as Medical Director, Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Cardiology.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology
- Board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology
- Completion of an advanced fellowship in Pediatric Heart Failure & Transplant or a minimum of five years of pediatric heart failure and transplant clinical practice experience
- Expertise in pediatric heart failure, transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, VADs, and ECMO
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and program-building skills
- Evidence of academic productivity and clinical research participation
- Preferred: Experience leading or launching a pediatric heart failure or transplant program and involvement in national heart failure or transplant organizations

Nicklaus Children's Health System is expanding its nationally recognized Heart Institute through the development of a comprehensive Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Program. This opportunity offers the ability to join a leading pediatric cardiovascular program dedicated to delivering world-class care to children throughout South Florida and beyond while helping shape the future of advanced heart failure and transplant services
Academic Affiliation
Our academic affiliation is with Florida International University (FIU). This position is eligible to apply for a faculty appointment at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Each year, Nicklaus Children's Hospital trains:
- 84 pediatric residents and 2 chief residents
- 49 subspecialty fellows in 17 distinct training programs
