A rare family benefit: The Villages Charter School
Full-time employees of Rivers Family Medicine are eligible for The Villages Charter School (TVCS) — one of the strongest public-education benefits available anywhere in Florida.
TVCS is a K–12 Charter School-in-the-Workplace created for children of employees who live and work in this community. It is not a typical zoned public school. Enrollment is tied to a parent’s qualifying employment, not a home address.
What that means for your family:
23 consecutive “A” ratings from the Florida Department of Education
Named a High Performing Charter School and a Florida School of Excellence
Cognia School and System of Distinction (top-tier international accreditation)
Consistently ranks in the top 10% of Florida schools for overall performance, math, and reading
Pre-K through 12th grade on modern campuses (Buffalo Ridge and Middleton), with athletics, academics, and a tight school community
Designed so parents who work in The Villages can give their children a top-tier education without private-school tuition
For physicians with school-age children, this benefit alone is often the reason families choose The Villages over Orlando, Tampa, or a hospital employed job.
Why physicians stay here
Independent, physician-led practice — decisions are made in the office, not by a distant system
Established patient base in one of Florida’s fastest-growing communities
Supportive clinical team and two-location footprint
Central Florida location: The Villages lifestyle, Orlando about an hour south, Tampa about 90 minutes, and both coasts within easy weekend reach
Strong schools, recreation, restaurants, golf, and a community built around active living
