DescriptionJob Summary
The Sr Manager Strategy Advancement Team plays a critical role in advancing the strategic objectives of Nicklaus Children's Health System. Responsible for leading the execution of key strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving measurable results. Collaborates closely with executive leadership, clinical and operational teams, and external stakeholders to manage cross-functional projects, develop and monitor key performance indicators, and ensure timely achievement of milestones. Key responsibilities include facilitating strategic planning processes, overseeing program implementation, and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
A critical focus of this role is leading change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new initiatives across the organization, developing best practices for project planning and execution, and standardizing work to enhance efficiency and consistency. Strategic thinker with a proven track record in healthcare strategy execution, a strong background in change management, and expertise in creating frameworks for scalable and repeatable processes. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics to deliver transformative outcomes. Responsible for leading and mentoring a team of project managers as a part of a larger implementation team. Ability to work collaboratively with leaders across the organizations and external stakeholders such as consultants or partnering organizations. Reports directly to the SVP, Chief Strategy Officer.
Job Specific Duties
- Consults and collaborates with NCHS leaders and external stakeholders to coordinate the implementation of high impact system strategic initiatives and its affiliate.
- Leads, coaches, counsels, and evaluates employees on their job performance. Ensure employees adhere to all NCHS policies and procedures, including NCHS Values and Guiding Behaviors. Makes appropriate recommendations for corrective action and carries them out. Consults with TM&E as needed.
- Analyzes and determines appropriate staffing levels. Responsible for hiring and orienting new employees and the growth and development of direct reports.
- Fosters high performance teams through coaching, mentoring, recognition, and appreciation efforts. Provides timely feedback to support employee feedback and engagement.
- Manages staff to maintain accurate, complete, timely updates related to initiatives and to create and maintain materials to support the development and relationship process.
- Leads integration and organizational strategic initiatives into actionable strategies. Anticipates, advises, and adapts to significant changes in the environment and business trends. Develops and manages strong internal relationships within multiple levels of the organization.
- Manages, monitors, and evaluates process improvement and efficiency efforts, investigate trends, and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness. Plans, coordinates, and administers process improvement activities including developing, implementing, and supervising related procedures, processes, services, and systems. Ensures employees are trained in proper methods and procedures and ensuring correctness of work.
- Delivers workshops, learning events, lean initiatives, short courses, and other programs related to process improvement efforts. Develops and coordinates new ideas and concepts for process improvements and resources. Expands or replaces existing process components.
- Analyzes, understands, and communicates requirements for data and reporting related to manager dashboards and metrics to ensure actionable deliverables are responded to in a timely and consistent fashion. Develops and optimizes training programs for NCHS leaders and staff as aligned with organizational and system initiatives.
- Supports organizational and cultural changes needed to achieve strategic objectives; catalyzing new approaches to improve results by transforming organizational culture, systems, or workflow processes.
- Assume responsibility for special projects; formulating, organizing, prioritizing, and monitoring inter-connected projects and cross-project activities based on strategy, strategic roadmap, and available and prioritized budgets. Provides strategic guidance to teams and project managers within the strategy management office (SMO) while overseeing the progress of operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Health Care Management, or related field
- 3 years' experience working in a healthcare administrative setting, medical group leadership, or similar healthcare experience
- 2 years' experience working on large-scale, cross-functional programs and projects focused on all phases on integration planning and execution

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with C-suite, physicians, and leaders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; utilizes data to trend and identify root causes with strong financial, business, and operational acumen.
- Knowledgeable in hospital/physician relationships with integration strategies and tactics.
- Establish credibility and respect within a medical group.
- Able to organize and identify workflow opportunities, redesign new processes/work flows, and create buy-in from all customers on change.
- Delegate effectively and establish clear guidelines for accountability.
- Meticulous attention to detail, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, and skilled in effective collaboration with various departments.
- Experience leading a team of specialized professional associates.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational strategies, and reporting outcomes effectively.
- Ability to manage confidential/proprietary information across internal and external strategies.
