Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital jointly with the Critical Care Center in the Integrated Hospital care Institute (IHI) is seeking an exceptional Board-Certified or Board-Eligible physician with Transplant ICU experience, interest, or training to join our high-acuity Transplant Intensive Care Unit.

We also welcome surgically trained physicians who, over the course of their careers, have gravitated toward critical care practice and developed the skills to fulfill this role, even without formal Board Certification in Critical Care.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced intensivist to practice within a nationally recognized academic medical center and a leading South Florida transplant program. Cleveland Clinic Weston’s Transplant Center provides heart, liver and kidney transplantation, including complex transplant care.

The Opportunity

The Transplant ICU physician provides comprehensive critical care across the full continuum of transplant care — from pre-transplant evaluation, medical optimization, and assessment of suitability, through complex postoperative management of high-acuity patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support, mechanical ventilation, and organ-support therapies.

This role offers a distinctive opportunity to work alongside a multispecialty team of intensivists and critical care specialists, applying a protocolized, evidence-based approach to preoperative optimization of this complex patient population.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and appropriate critical care fellowship training
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care
• Surgically trained candidates who have gravitated toward critical care over the course of their career and can demonstrably fulfill the responsibilities of this role are also encouraged to apply, even without formal Board Certification in Critical Care
• American Board for Transplant Certification is a plus
• Transplant ICU experience, interest, or training is preferred
• Demonstrated experience caring for solid-organ transplant patients in an ICU setting
• Strong expertise in the management of critically ill postoperative and transplant patients
• Current or eligibility for Florida medical licensure
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Commitment to quality, patient safety, education, and continuous improvement
